Actually, solar eclipse occurs more frequently than lunar eclipse in all over the world. However, total or annular solar eclipse can be seen only in a narrow band where the moon's shadow passes on the earth.

At a point on the earth, total or annular eclipse can be seen once an every 300 or 400 years in average.

On the other hand, lunar eclipse can be seen in the wide area where the moon is in the sky. Therefore, lunar eclipse can be seen once an every two or three years at least.
