Live! Eclipse Executive Committee is a non-profit, volunteer organisation.
Its members are amateur astronomers, professional astronomers and related
workers, workers involved with the SOHO observatory, network engineers,
and students. We use the Internet as out main method of communication.
The chairman of our committee is the chief astronomer of the Misato
Observatory in Wakayama Prefecture, Mr. Masami Okyudo. He has a strong
track record of utilizing the Internet to inform people about astronomy.
Beginning with the first ever live internet broadcast of a solar eclipse
from multiple locations in March, 1997, we have broadcast 8 solar and
lunar eclipses and meteor showers. Using the latest in Internet technology
we have been accessed by large numbers of viewers from over 100 countries,
establishing a track record of achievement in internet astronomy broadcasting.
